Glory Filled Pakistan: Day 2

In the morning service,pastor Henry Madava preached on the practical essentials of the ministry in the context of church growth. He considered an example of Nehemiah, who restored the broken wall and gates of Jerusalem.He started as an ordinary servant whose task was to bring wine to the king while being in captivity, although he had been called to be a city builder(Neh. 1:2-4, 2:1).However, Nehemiahwas movedby what was going on in Jerusalem. He wept. He refused to do smaller things when God called him to do bigger things. Pastor Henry asked the congregation these questions: “What moves you in your heart?What dream do you have?” “The real calling from God will change everything in your life,” he continued.When Jesus ordained his 12 disciples, he gave them a mission (Mark 3:13-15).

“What mission do you have?” pastor Henry asked.He urged pastors and leaders to spend time with God to get revelation on their mission. Jesus instructed his disciples to preach the Gospel of the kingdom, to heal the sick, to cast out demons, to cleanse the lepers, and to raise the dead(Mat. 10:7-8). This is the mission each pastor and leader still has today!Pastor Henry challenged the pastors and leaders to do these things when they go back to their churches.And this will shake the whole Pakistani nation!

Nehemiah was fasting and praying. This is very important for a leader. With no fasting and praying, there is no power of God. “God wants us to be praying leaders. There is nothing better than pastors fasting and praying together,” pastor Henry taught. He urged pastors to live in unity with each other and to fight hatred in the church.

Nehemiah could not accomplish his mission without other people. He had to raise leaders around him. He started to talk to the people. Our words are the most powerful weapon we have. Communication is very important. “Be able to communicate your vision,” pastor Henry taught. He also urged pastors not to allow fear to lead them but be led by the Spirit of God.

Pastor Henry finished his message by describing five strategies how to grow the church:

1. Praying strategy;
2. Evangelistic strategy;
3. Pastoral strategy;
4. Teaching strategy;
5. Equipping/mobilizing strategy.

“How many loaves of bread do you have?” with this question pastor Henry ended his teaching. Then he prayed for the pastors and leaders to become real master builders and to get strategies regarding their ministry from God.

After a one-hour break for a lunch, when all the people who came to the conference got a free food package, the second service started. Pastor Henry taught on the glory of God. He read from 2 Chron. 5:13-14.The priests were praising God in the temple. Then the cloud descended from heaven, and the priests could not stand because of the glory of God. Pastor Henry spoke about two parts of the glory:

1. Praising God in His attributes;
2. Atmosphere of heaven.

The attributes of God and God move together. In the glory of God you find all the attributes of God, the fullness of God is revealed when the glory comes. “Touching by the glory of God never makes you the same,”pastor Henry emphasized. When the atmosphere of heaven comes down, miracles and healings happen.In the New Testament every believer is the temple of the living God (2 Cor. 6:15-16). This means that the presence of God dwells in us. “There is enough power in you to shake Pakistan,” pastor Henry addressed to the pastors and leaders.

Pastor Henry finished his message on the glory of God by the story about Hanna from1 Sam 1:2-6. Hannah was barren and could not conceive a child. But she rose up and took responsibility. When she took responsibility, her life was changed. God’s glory manifested in her life, and God blessed Hannah with a son and then by three more sons and two daughters. Pastor Henry urged the pastors to take responsibility if they wish to see the glory of God in their lives.

In the end of his message, pastor Henry shared a word from God that came to him about Pakistan. He told that God is going to bring revival to Pakistan through the people of Pakistan. Pastors from Pakistan should take responsibility for the revival. Then pastor Henry spoke against the begging spirit and self-pity that have been manifesting in this nation for a long time.

The service ended with a prayer. Pastor Henry prayed for the release of God’s glory in Pakistan and in each city of Pakistan. He laid his hands on many pastors and leaders. Many of them could not stand in the presence of the Lord like those priests in the temple!

Then pastor Henry prayed for the sick. God’s glory manifested in many healings. A paralyzed man stood up from the wheelchair and walked. He could walk for the first time for the last three years! A woman got a relief from the breast cancer. Another woman had a growth in the back of her head disappeared. A man had a broken leg and was unable to walk normally. After the prayer he could run!

A special business meeting was organized after two main services. More than 50 businessmen from different cities of Pakistan were present at this meeting. Pastor Henry taught about the partnership between pastors and businessmen. It is a good start for the Christian business movement in Pakistan!
