Pastors of 34 churches had united to organize the Festival of Jesus in Buriram. The usher team (more than 200 people) was gathered from the churches of Buriram and its suburbs. A large team arrived from Bangkok. The believers from local churches were very happy, they expected that many people would repent and receive Jesus. Everybody believed that the services with pastor Henry would become the beginning of awakening and spiritual changes in Thailand.

Advertisement was initially placed on two radio channels, but later other radio stations offered their air time to advertise the Festival of Jesus. Advertisement was also posted on 20 billboards and on many advertising panels. One of the billboards was torn off twice.

"We celebrate Jesus Christ, the Lord of miracles" was written on booklets sent out to every house of the million city. Cars with posters and loudspeakers drove around the city under police escort and invited the people of Buriram to the miracle services. A paramotor hovered over the city with a huge banner that invited people to the meeting.

There were buses which transported people from ten suburban towns around Buriram to the service.

However, not all people were happy about the upcoming events. The pastors who organized the meetings received calls with threats and public statements of opposition. There was information that the local FBI would be present on the services with inspection. In some circles there were fears that the Festival of Jesus would divide the society apart. An extra detail of police was deployed to enhance the protection of the Festival of Jesus.

The spiritual atmosphere of this quiet Thai village was very disturbed. A fresh wave of Christian awakening broke in the center of the Buddhist stronghold with power and scale unseen there before. Suddenly 20 people of the local team fell ill the day before the Festival. The joint Thai-Ukrainian-Pakistan-UAE team was well-coordinated, and it operated without fear. Everyone expected the unusual movement of the Spirit of God.

Threat calls did not frighten but stimulated to be more active. Everyone strived to make the maximum contribution to this historical event, as judged by local pastors.

Our mission is to change history by extending the kingdom of God among the nations of the world. Let us stand firmly together for the name of Jesus Christ.
